Leaked photo of iPhone 5S front panel on assembly line

The frequency of leaked shots of iPhone 5S components keeps increasing as we approach closer to the rumored release. Today, a photo of the iPhone 5S’ display assembly surfaced on Chinese social network Sina Weibo. While photos of the iPhone 5S’ display have leaked before, what’s notable about this image is that it’s taken on a production line, suggesting that the device has passed earlier stages of manufacturing.

The photo is relatively small, but the resolution is good enough that the redesigned flex cable connectors on the iPhone 5S part can be seen. On the iPhone 5, the two connectors supporting the display itself and the touch digitizer are both oriented horizontally, while on the iPhone 5S one is oriented vertically and the other horizontally.

The iPhone 5S is expected to be launched in September, and G4Games notes that this photo suggests that the device is already in the mass production stage.

The iPhone display on the left seems larger than the 4-inch display of the iPhone 5, but we’re not sure if that’s actually the case or it is due to camera angle. What do you think?
